The UK Crypto Podcast
Cryptoasset risk summary.
FCA prescribed risk warning
Don't invest unless you're prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you should not expect to be protected if something goes wrong.
Due to the possibility of substantial losses, the Financial Conduct Authority considers cryptoasset investments to be high risk.
What are the key risks?
You could lose all the money you invest
Cryptoasset prices can be extremely volatile. Their value can fall rapidly as well as rise, and you should be prepared for the possibility of losing your entire investment.
Money or cryptoassets may also be lost through cyberattacks, fraud, financial crime, platform failure, operational problems or the loss of private keys.
Past performance does not predict future results. Previous price increases, trading results or market performance do not guarantee that similar results will happen again.
You should not expect to be protected if something goes wrong
Most direct cryptoasset investments are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
The UK Crypto Podcast is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Its news, commentary, interviews and content are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
The Financial Ombudsman Service will generally not be able to consider complaints about unregulated activities provided by The UK Crypto Podcast.
You may not be able to sell when you want to
There is no guarantee that a cryptoasset can be sold at a particular time or price.
The ability to sell can depend on market demand, available liquidity and whether the relevant exchange or platform is operating normally. Technology failures, withdrawals being suspended, cyberattacks, platform insolvency or other operational problems may prevent or delay a sale.
Cryptoassets can be complex
Cryptoassets and related products can be difficult to understand. Different assets have different structures, purposes and risks.

Leverage, futures and derivatives carry additional risks
Leveraged trading, futures, perpetual contracts and other crypto derivatives are complex and exceptionally high risk. Leverage can magnify losses, positions may be liquidated rapidly and traders may lose their deposited funds.
The availability of a product on an overseas platform does not necessarily mean that it is lawful, suitable or appropriate for a UK consumer.
Do not put all your money into one investment
Concentrating money in one cryptoasset, platform or type of investment increases risk. Diversification may reduce dependence on one investment, but it cannot prevent losses.
The FCA states that a useful general rule is not to place more than 10% of your net assets into high-risk investments. This is general information and is not a personal recommendation.
